How we would compare exchange fees
Headline fees can mislead. A fair comparison needs one standard purchase, including spread and withdrawal costs.
Prototype with sample content. News stories, companies, products and scores are invented, and nothing has been reviewed by an editor.Prototype: invented sample stories, not yet reviewed.
This invented dataset shows how our research format works: the question, the method, the numbers and their limits.

In this invented sample, the 100 largest wallets hold 61% of one stablecoin’s supply, but exchanges control about half of those wallets. A raw count of wallets can overstate how concentrated ownership is.
A real version would publish the date, the chains covered, how wallets were labeled and how the data can be checked. All of these figures are invented to show the format.
| Holder group | Share of supply |
|---|---|
| Exchange wallets | 31% |
| Other large wallets | 30% |
| All other wallets | 39% |
Wallet labels can be wrong, and one wallet can hold assets for many people. Any real report would state those limits plainly.
